Following
the Address of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Leader of the
Nation, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, dated December 28, 2024, which emphasized the
need for training specialists in information technologies, artificial
intelligence, and the digital economy, the Academic Council of the Polytechnic
Institute of the Tajik Technical University named after academician M. S. Osimi
in Khujand made the decision to transform the Faculty of Engineering and
Economics into the Faculty of Digital Technologies.
The Faculty
of Digital Technologies of the Polytechnic Institute of the Tajik Technical
University named after academician M. S. Osimi in Khujand is one of the leading
divisions in training specialists for the modern digital society.
The faculty
combines scientific potential and practical training, shaping competent
engineers and researchers in the fields of information technology, programming,
telecommunications, finance, and the digital economy.

Academic Programs:
Training at
the Faculty of Digital Technologies is carried out within a three-level system
of higher education:
At the bachelor’s level, students study for
four years in the full-time program, while a distance-learning format is
available for those who combine study with work.
At the master’s level, the duration of study
is two years.
At the PhD level, the training of young researchers
takes from three to four years.

To ensure
modern practical training, the faculty operates five educational and research
laboratories:
1. Financial Technologies – practical
classes on digital financial tools, banking services, and payment systems.
2. Artificial Intelligence – working with
machine learning technologies, data analysis, and developing AI solutions.
3. Information Technologies – mastering
the latest hardware-software complexes and network technologies.
4. Programming – studying programming
languages, designing, and developing applications.
5. DigEco – research and implementation of
digital economy technologies in collaboration with international partners.
Academic Activities:
The
academic process at the Faculty of Digital Technologies is based on modern
educational standards and focuses on training specialists who are in demand in
the context of a digitalized society.
Detailed
curricula have been developed for each program, including both fundamental
subjects — mathematics, physics, and computer science — and specialized courses
that reflect the specifics of the future profession: programming, databases,
artificial intelligence, telecommunication systems, digital finance, and
information resource management.
Classes are
conducted in an interactive format using multimedia technologies, specialized software
packages, and laboratory equipment. Students have the opportunity to combine
theoretical training with practical skills in modern laboratories and during
internships at partner enterprises.
